Wilburton Beer Festival Pump
We are pleased to announce that the 16th Wilburton Beer Festival will be held on the weekend of the 21st and 22nd June 2014. Gates open at midday both days, and we finish at midnight on Saturday, and 6pm on Sunday.

We are busy planning this years festival - and hoping to build on the success of last year with the Sponsor a Barrel, the huge popularity of the local cider, and the excellent live bands. As before, the festival will include entertainment for children, a kids bar, food and live music throughout. And hopefully some sun!

This year we will have a range of activities for the family including bouncy slide, bungee trampolines, crafty tent, story telling, dance displays, balloon animals, face painting, sports competitions, games and much more! Live music will play throughout the weekend and food will include BBQ & Hog Roast from our excellent local butcher on Saturday, Wood Fired Pizza all weekend plus children's cocktails and snacks from the Wilburton School Association.

As our main beneficiary this year we have chosen to donate funds towards IT equipment at Wilburton Primary School. The proceeds of the 2013 went to the Wilburton Playground Working Group, who are going to provide the children of Wilburton with a much needed new play area in the village. Work is now underway on the park! For more information on the beneficiaries over the years, see the Beneficiaries page.

This year our kids entertainment is better than ever! Please click here to see the 2014 kids entertainment.

No Lager

After years of dwiddling sales, we have decided not to include lager in the Beer Festival this year. This will give those of you who drink the fizzy stuff a chance to try something different and to realise that it doesn't all have to taste the same!

One of the most common questions we are asked is "Are we allowed to bring a dog?" - the answer to that is no - the festival is held on the recreation ground, and dogs are not allowed on there.

Previous Years

The 15th Wilburton Beer Festival raised money for the Wilburton Playground Working Group, who were able to put it towards a grant application which is paying for the first phase of the new playground. Building work started in March 2014. Other beneficiaries include Humpty's Pre School, Wilburton Rainbows, Wilburton Brownies, HEART and the Liam Fairhurst Foundation.

The 14th Wilburton Beer Festival raised enough money to provide the kit for a First Responder - part of the Haddenham Community First Responders, who were at the festival giving demonstrations and providing some basic first aider training.

We would also like to thank all the companies who sponsored barrels and the glasses at the beer festival - helping us offset increasing costs and enabling us to donate more money to our chosen good causes. See our Sponsor a Barrel page for more details.

The Wilburton Beer Festival is run by volunteers, and is held annually to raise money for organisations, events and projects within the village and local area. Since 1998, we have raised well over £40,000 for these organisations. The organisers and helpers at the Festival give up their time to arrange and stage this event, so come along and support them and local charities by having a beer or two!

STAR Radio Logo Since 2006, we have also supported a few larger local campaigns - including EACH (the Milton Hospice), and Liam Fairhurst and his Liam's Mile campaign in association with STAR FM. Mark Peters of STAR FM and Liam opened the 2007 beer festival on Saturday afternoon, and Mark was back again in 2008.

In total, the beer festival has raised over £44,000 for local good causes.

(Our thoughts go to the family and friends of Liam, who sadly passed away on the 30th June 2009)
